We are constantly in need of volunteers to give up their time to love care for and help our dogs. We welcome all volunteers although children need to be accompanied by an adult. However, please note, we are dedicated in our work and expect the same level of love and commitment from our volunteers. |

Many Tears Animal Rescue now has now opened an eBay shop to raise funds! But we need your help. I am sure that many of you have items you bought thinking you might use them but never did, toys that your children just never played with or clothes bought that looked good on the peg but you changed your mind once you got them home! (I know we have!). |

Any used stamps are accepted but foreign stamps can earn us even more money, so if you can collect those along with UK stamps we would be very grateful. Please note that stamps should be trimmed from the envelope leaving a half-centimetre border around the stamp. Do not steam or peel them off as they are worth less without a backing or if they're damaged. We will collect into large amounts and sell to raise much needed funds. So come on, please start collecting.

Do you have an old WIND UP watch you don't want? Many Tears has had been offered the chance to send any unwanted wind up watches to a dealer who will buy them from us. If you have any you no longer use or need please send them to us. If you have children maybe they could ask their school if they could have a day when people could bring in any old watches. |

In the cold weather we are desperate for some dog coats! We have some wonderful people who knit us coats which are great for the dogs when they are in kennels but what we also need is a thick over coat - Hurtta Pro Waterproof Fleece Jackets have proved great. You can find them here. This is a big ask but if anyone could buy a coat or coats in any size (although we are very short on collie/lab sizes - 40-50cm) it would really help. Thank you so much from the dogs at Many Tears xxxx ******************************* An enormous thank you to Stuart & Ann who own www.camddwrcanine.co.uk for adding in extra treats and goodies to every coat ordered from them. Thank you everybody for your ongoing support. |

Up here in Wales there are a lot of stray and unwanted dogs in the pounds every day. This is actually a fact all over the UK. Rescues try to prevent these dogs dying when their times is up by taking them in and re-homing them. This is a very hard job, especially with dog who bite always getting top billing by the press. The pounds and councils do not want to kill dogs, but strangely, and certainly the ones up here, do little to help. I am hoping you all could write a letter either to the Welsh Council or, your local council, and suggest:
I feel with more knowledge rescues would be more likely to take the rotties, staffs and those who act strangely in kennels who are always left behind. The rescue would be able to add the notes from the pound to their own and the public would be keener to adopt a dog if they had some history.
Often dogs come to us from the pound have shown signs of aggression whilst in there. We give them a chance and they turn out to be the sweetest dogs ever but were just freaked out by being taken in a van with no familiar faces etc. to a pound or sometimes by their owners and simply left there, These dogs are the ones we pick up because others have passed them by. If the finder or owner had answered a questionnaire and said the dog was affectionate and trusting, rescues would know the poor dog was just freaked because they were in the pound.
I am hoping you will all ask a council to help a little, as a resuce's job is already so hard. This has been asked in the past but ignored. Please write or email to all you can, You are the voice of the voiceless so if you care, please write letters to the councils and yes even the kennel club. Good luck, your luck will be the dogs luck too!
